Orthodoxy at a Turning Point: A National Conversation

Panel #4: American Judaism(s): The Diversity of Jewish Beliefs and Jewish Practices

Moderated by Leon Wieseltier

Distinguished Guest Panelists:

The American Jewish community now contains within itself a large variety of beliefs and practices. There are differences between the denominations and within the denominations and outside the denominations. Is this a crisis or a blossoming? Is the Jewish tradition being depleted or enriched by the many stirrings of American Judaism? How can Jews speak to each other constructively across the divisions of faith and action? Is religious consensus possible, or even desirable? These are the urgent questions with which our esteemed guests will grapple.
